Why UWI SODECO Relaunched the Journal Club

The Journal Club connects research and evidence with real-world practice. By bringing colleagues together to ask questions, challenge ideas and learn from one another, it supports a stronger culture of collaboration and professional development.

The Inaugural Session

The inaugural session in this cycle featured a presentation by Dr Mellanie Didier, Consultant Radiologist at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI). Dr Didier reviewed and led a discussion of the article Vitamin D in Pulmonary Disease (O’Reilly & Murphy, 2026). The conversation allowed team members to explore emerging knowledge, exchange perspectives and consider how research can inform patient care and future study.

Building a Culture of Learning and Collaboration

Beyond discussing research findings, the sessions allow colleagues to learn from one another, ask thoughtful questions and connect evidence with the realities of clinical and research work. This shared approach keeps learning active, practical and connected to the needs of the communities UWI SODECO serves.

Continuing the Journal Club at UWI SODECO

UWI SODECO looks forward to continuing the Journal Club as a regular platform for professional development, meaningful dialogue and shared learning.
