This project addresses the large-scale die-off of mangroves along Jamaica’s south Clarendon coast, caused by hurricanes, infrastructure, and disrupted hydrology. Through targeted restoration efforts such as channel reopening and hydrological reconnectivity, the initiative aims to recover at least 50% of historical mangrove cover within five years. The project seeks to restore ecosystem services, biodiversity, and climate resilience while benefiting local communities.
